Colin Montgomerie is well placed to win his second tournament in the space of seven days and at 6/1 rates a reasonable bet going into the final round of the American Express Championship in San Francisco.

Monty, a winner at St Andrews last week, is one shot off leader John Daly with Tiger Woods and Sergio Garcia sharing third spot. Former Open winner Daly has been hitting some enormous drives in the blustery conditions, which if the same on the final day may play in to the hands of Monty who is more adept at handling the elements of the weather.

Certainly the Betfair punter who laid Monty at 84/1 before in the tournament began is in for a few anxious hours later this evening.
