Manny Pacquiao gained revenge over Erik Morales with a 10th-round stoppage in a barnstorming super featherweight encounter in Las Vegas.
Filipino hardman Pacquiao nearly dropped Morales in round two and wobbled him again in the sixth.
With Morales' nose seemingly broken, Pacquiao swarmed all over the Mexican in the eighth and ninth and Morales looked to be a spent force.
Pacquiao then floored Morales twice in round 10 before the fight was stopped.
It is the first time the 29-year-old Morales, a former three-weight world champion, has been stopped and he has now lost three of his last four fights.
He posted a unanimous decision over the 27-year-old Pacquiao, himself a former two-weight world champion, last March.
Pacquiao has now been installed as the WBC's number one contender. Mexican legend Marco Atonio Barrera holds the WBC belt.
"I saw I hurt him every time I hit him in the body," said Pacquiao. "I know everyone in the Philippines is happy."
Morales said: "I was tired because of making weight and I was tired because of all the tough fights I've had."
On the undercard, Martin Castillo beat Alexander Munoz for a second time to retain his WBA super flyweight crown.
